And welcome back to SMC. While the world is currently in a state of flux, this situation has hit everyone a little differently. While a good portion of us are indeed isolating at home, this has wreaked havoc with availably of the staff for our site. That being said we are getting back on track and plan to hopefully provide you with a more stable supply of content. Enjoy. We figured we should start off with some really amazing Disney cosplay.
With all that out of the way, let’s get into today’s SMCDaily. We posted on Instagram last week that we were in the process of doing a “Top 10” for Disney cosplay, and that is certainly still in the works and will be live very soon. In the meantime, this amazing Beauty and the Beast set was sent to us, and it was so spectacular it inspired us to put the effort in during the Pandemic to get it posted to our site, so everyone else could enjoy it as well.
Whenever you hear the word Disney, you often think of their amazing collection of animated films. Why there certainly been some truly amazing movies released in recent years (i.e. Moana, Zootopica & Toy Story 4), I often think back on some of the real classics that made them famous. One of those such movie classics in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. This movie is considered one of their favourite by many Disney lovers around the world. The story of Belle and the Beast falling in love is a timeless treasure, and it features a really strong story element. If by chance you’ve never seen the original cartoon release, I’d highly recommend you check it out. The live-action re-release featuring Emma Watson is really good as well, but I do find that the original movie is what I still think of when someone brings up “Beauty and the Beast”.

Let us talk cosplay. There are several things you’ll notice about this set that we have featured throughout this posting. First, we have Belle herself, cosplayer Ann Shakhovskaya (IG) has really done a stunning job of recreating Belle’s iconic yellow ballroom dress. The dress is so elegant and really pops in all of the shots. Combine the dress with how @ann_shakhovskaya has presented herself with her combination of hair and makeup, and it really fell that Belle herself has simply emerged from the cartoon animation cells and now present in today’s reality. Next are the absolutely magical locations that really help bring the pictures alive. Each shot tells a story, and many of them hit story elements found within the movie, evoking an additional level of emotion when viewing the shots. Lastly, we can not for one second forget the Beast. A key element of the story, this is by far one of the best beasts we’ve come across since launching our site. As of right now, the Beast is uncredited for this story, but we will work on getting that corrected and will update the post when we get those details.

These three elements, the Beasts, the true beauty of Belle, along with the magical settings come together to make these truly breath-taking shots. So who is responsible for all of this? Well, of course, we have to take a second to highlight the work of cosplay photographer Alena Mogan (IG). I think we can all agree without the amazing vision of @alenamogan, we wouldn’t have ended up with all of these spectacular shots. Everyone one of the outdoor shots really hits, and then combine that with the edits that feature a number of locations and scenes ripped from the movie, and this set is by far one of the best cosplay shoots we have been lucky enough to feature on our site.
