SMC: Why did you start cosplaying?
A long time ago, when I was about 10 years old I began to dress up as Lara Croft, because she was my idol and childhood hero. I didn’t really know anything about cosplaying, I just loved to dress up as my favorite character. By then I suffered from a lack of self-esteem and cosplaying was my way to get out of it. Therefore it became a bigger and bigger meaning for me and my further life.

SMC: What was the first convention you attended in cosplay?
That was a relatively small Anime Convention, called MMC in Berlin in 2009. By that time I was still doing only Lara Croft cosplay, so of course I attended as her.
SMC: What has been your most memorable convention moment?
That was when I got the chance to be the official Lara Croft ambassador at Gamescom 2015 – for me it really was a dream that came true. I only went to a very few and small conventions before, so I didn’t really know what would expect me… in the end it was all so overwhelming and amazing!

SMC: What is your favorite thing about cosplaying at a convention?
Honestly I don‘t care so much about the convention itself – but I always love to meet old and new friends there, take pictures together or just enjoy looking at all the other cosplays.
SMC: Where can fans expect to see you next? I will definitely be at the CCXP in Cologne in June and Elfia (NL) in September. There are a few other conventions that I have been looking into attending but am not entirely sure as of yet.

SMC: What cosplayers inspire you?
I could name many here, since I admire a ton of different cosplayers, for example Lightning Cosplay or Kamui Cosplay are wonderful talented and I love their work! But most of all I look up to Ben and Maja from Maul Cosplay. Luckily I live quite close to them and had – besides conventions – the chance to meet them personally. Their work is absolutely outstanding and they are always so kind and helpful! They are a huge inspiration for me and I am always looking forward to meet them again.
SMC: Which is your favorite cosplay you’ve created?
So far it is Triss Merigold‘s DLC dress, this was most challenging for me and took a very long time to finish, but I‘m really happy and proud about it now.

SMC: What cosplay are you best known for?
It‘s still Lara Croft, sometimes I feel like people are reducing me to only cosplaying her, which I’d like to change. This is why I plan to cosplay more other characters in the future.

SMC: If money was no object what would be your dream cosplay creation?
I don‘t think money is a main obstacle, it‘s more a question of skill(s).
SMC: Do you have any new cosplays currently in the works?
I think about starting my own version of Poison Ivy. But before that I plan to do some rework on my WoW Bloodelf and Cersei.
SMC: What are your cosplay strengths?
I see my strengths in detailing and painting. I also love to work with leather and recently became more skilled in sewing.

SMC: Any advice for people interested in cosplaying for the first time? Don‘t be afraid of all the things you think you can‘t do! Just get started and you will grow into it – that‘s how everyone first got into it.
SMC: What do you do in the real world for a job?
I work fulltime as a graphic designer in an international consulting and engineering company.
SMC: What is something your fans may not know about you? Other hobbies?
Beside videogames I also love playing Pen&Paper games. My favorites are Vampire: The Requiem and Call of Cthulhu.

SMC: What part of “geekdom” is you favorite avenue of entertainment (i.e. comics, movies, video games, anime, etc?)
Movies, series and video games.
SMC: Any favorite TV shows, movies or cartoons?
The Witcher, Game of Thrones and Star Wars.
SMC: What is your gaming system of choice?
I used to play everything on PC but recently I switched to PS4. There‘s nothing more comfortable then gaming while sitting on the couch.

SMC: What are you currently playing / upcoming video game releases? Currently I am playing the Elder Scrolls online and I am really looking forward to the Lovecraft inspired open world game The Sinking City.
