Here at SMC we absolutely love cosplay, and we do our best each and every day to try and bring our readers unique and amazing sights and creations. These creations run the gambit from many different fandoms to many different types of fantasies. Something that isn’t fantasy is the statistics behind Breast Cancer.
U.S. Breast Cancer Statistics. About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. In 2015, an estimated 231,840 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 60,290 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer — source: Google (Jan 2016)
Now that you’ve had a chance to see those numbers you know for a fact that Breast Cancer is a very serious issue not only in the United States, but all over the world.
Cosplay and Breast Cancer have the world in common, the statistics above reference those in the United States, but we all know there is a bigger picture to be seen. A cure found in any country can be applied to many people from around the world to save thousands of lives.
Today’s post highlights a group of cosplayers that have teamed together to help with that fight. They realize that this is an important issue, and could potentially impact either themselves or a fellow cosplayer they know and care for. That is why we’ve created this post for you today. Take a moment to look at the prints below, then consider helping out and doing your part to support theĀ Breast Cancer Research foundation (BCRF). Together with your support a cure could be just around the river bend.
Purchase your own copy of the prints on the Princesses Prefer Pink site
A Big thanks goes out to the cosplayers for putting their time and energy into such an important project.
