Share My Cosplay Interview – Queen Azshara Cosplay

Editors Note: The following interview was originally conducted in French and then translated to English.  the original version is available here

Location:  Montréal Canada

SMC: What motivated you to start cosplaying?
Queen Azshara Cosplay: I love reincarnating fictional characters and bringing them to life and I also love creating props and armors.

SMC: What was the first convention where you cosplayed?
Queen Azshara: Japan Expo 2003 in Paris I had done as my first cosplay Naru Narusegawa from Love Hina

SMC: What has been your most memorable convention moment?
Queen Azshara Cosplay: Doing a duo with my sister, Lightning & Serah at Montreal Comic Con in 2013.

SMC: What is the favorite thing about cosplaying at a convention?
Queen Azshara Cosplay: When people come and chat with you and ask questions about my costumes.

SMC: Related to conventions, where can fans expect to see you next in? (any schedule in particular?)
Queen Azshara Cosplay: Nadeshicon in Québec city and possibly Ottawa Comic Con depending on my schedule

SMC: What other cosplayers inspire you?
Queen Azshara Cosplay: The armors of Kamui and the Japanese Tomia which is to Kawaii. I’m not a fan of the cosplayers on Heroes of Cosplay, I find they do very nice costumes but reincarnations of the characters don’t really suit them.

SMC: Which is your favorite Cosplays you’ve created?
Queen Azshara Cosplay: Mara Jade and Lulu (that in the actual moment are nearly completed)

SMC: What cosplay are you best known for?
Queen Azshara Cosplay: Probably Mara Jade from Star Wars, it’s also the one that I am more comfortable reenacting since I have no wig, no lens, just plain old me

SMC: If money was no object what would be your dream costume to cosplay?
Queen Azshara Cosplay: Motorball’s verision of Gally from Gunnm (or Battle Angel Alita) or the T5 Hunter from World of Warcraft.

SMC: What part of “geekdom” is you favorite avenue of entertainment? (i.e. comics, movies, video games, anime, etc)
Queen Azshara: Mostly video games, specially online RPG’s

SMC: What Comic Books are you currently addicted to?
Queen Azshara Cosplay: Elfquest by Ricahrd and Wendy Pini, I was in primary school when I got hook, but kind of lost interest towards the end of the story, as it was disappointing me.

SMC: Any favorite TV shows, movies or cartoons?
Queen Azshara: Star Wars, Game of thrones.

SMC: Do you have any new cosplays currently in the works?
Queen Azshara Cosplay: Yes, Lulu from Final Fantasy X that I will be wearing at Nadeshicon and Kotobukiya’s version of Mara Jade.
