#TeamSMC member Isley Tesla Cosplay recently added Dallas Fan Days 2016. During her time spent there checking out all of the amazing cosplays, Isley meet up with Mcubed Cosplay, and they did a quick onsite interview. Check out what Mcubed had to say below.
<
p style=”text-align: justify;”>Tesla Isley: Why and when did you begin participating in cosplay?
MCubed: I have been acting my whole life! I was a theater major in college and love it, I have also always been nerdy – I thought cosplay was the perfect transition into the real world. My fans keep me motivated, I have been cosplaying for about 3 years now and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon!
<
p style=”text-align: justify;”>Tesla Isley: What you would tell people about the art?
MCubed: Building and perfecting cosplay gets super frustrating and sometimes you want to give up, but in the end it’s soooo worth it! You will always continue to get better and to grow, and never be afraid to ask for help!
<
p style=”text-align: justify;”>Tesla Isley: What is your most inspiring moment while doing cosplay?
MCubed: One of my biggest goals is to inspire others to have great confidence! I want everyone to be confident in themselves, their bodies and their skills. But, I especially hope to inspire little girls to realize that they can achieve anything! That is the reason I always tend to cosplay very strong, independent female characters – they call to me. I believe I have grown into one of those strong women, and I want little girls to want to grow up to be just as strong! It greatly inspires me to see how young girls react to my cosplays!
<
p style=”text-align: justify;”>Tesla Isley: Have you picked up any skills from cosplay that you use in normal circumstances?
MCubed: Well I have always known how to sew (which I believe is still an important life skill), but learning all of the other skills you need in order to make cosplays happen has been an amazing challenge! Cosplay also always helps with public speaking and thinking on your toes!
<
p style=”text-align: justify;”>Tesla Isley: How has the world of cosplay changed you?
MCubed: Cosplay has made me a more outgoing and interactive person. It has taught me how to be humble and to not judge myself too harshly when I’m not perfect. And most importantly, cosplay has taught me to never give up!
<
p style=”text-align: justify;”>Tesla Isley: What conventions and costumes should we be looking for next?
MCubed: These are only the cons I’m 100% as of right now – I’ll be a cosplay guest at:
