Location: London, UK
SMC: Why did you start cosplaying?
Pixie Late: I started cosplaying this year because it was always something that I have wanted to do for a while but never had the time to because of work and studies on top of my fashion business endeavors.
SMC: What was the first convention you attended where you cosplayed?
Pixie Late: It’s was a London convention
SMC: What has been your most memorable convention moment so far?
Pixie Late:I have to say it was Hyper Japan 2014! It was the best convention for me because I get to be with the best people and out of the three years I’ve been at conventions (I go about three times a year), that was definitely the one that stuck with me!
SMC: What is your favorite thing about cosplaying at a convention?
Pixie Late: I think for me conventions are usually to hang out with my friends who are into the same things as I am when I am not an exhibitor or a guest at cons! Also meeting new lovely people and looking at other people’s awesome costumes and outfits.
SMC: Related to conventions, where can fans expect to see you next? (Schedule?)
Pixie Late:I think I will either be going to HYPER JAPAN Christmas Market or an American one! I’m so excited at the prospect of going to a convention in a different country.
SMC: What cosplayers inspire you?
Pixie Late:I love Alodia Gosengfiao and Courtoon ~ they are talented and very beautiful. On top of that they have their own spin to cosplaying which is important to me. Being able to cosplay a lot of different characters (being versatile) is also a huge plus.
SMC: Which is your favorite Cosplay you’ve created?
Pixie Late:I think my favourite one is yet to come because I’m making my Sailor Mulan costume and my casual Babydoll outfit from Sucker Punch. Both you don’t see very often so….challenge accepted!
SMC: What cosplay are you best known for?
Pixie Late:Hmm tricky question because I think people have their favourites but I have to say it’s a tie between Junko Enoshima (Danganronpa), Babydoll (Sucker Punch) and Sylveon (Pokémon X&Y)…? However, based on how many interviews and features I have to say Junko Enoshima and Sailor Venus!
SMC: If money was no object what would be your dream cosplay creation?
Pixie Late:Dream cosplay would be Neo Queen Serenity with massive wings!
SMC: Do you have any upcoming projects you’d like to plug?
Pixie Late:I will be doing Disney’s Mulan (sailor Mulan based on the Drachea’s art), League of Legend’s Ahri (popstar version) and I’ve just shot Marceline from Adventure Time. Marceline and Ahri was actually most suggested by my fans and followers so I thought, why not, I love them as characters anyway!
SMC: Do you have any new cosplays currently in the works?
Pixie Late:Marceline from Adventure time! I’ve just finished her since she’s a simple cosplay (apart from painting my face and body grey that is) and My Little Pony’s Rainbow Dash. She was fun to do!
SMC: What do you do in the real world for a job? (Be specific as you like)
Pixie Late:I work in the arts industry, not as a creative however. I am lucky to be surrounded by beautiful and sometimes, priceless pieces of art let’s just say. It’s a learning curve for me as well and it’s always good to have a job that makes you learn new things everyday.
SMC: What is something your fans may not know about you? Other hobbies?
Pixie Late:I figure skate and I have a bottomless pit of a stomach. I am literally constantly snacking on something or I get very cranky.
SMC: What part of “geekdom” is you favorite avenue of entertainment (i.e. comics, movies, video games, anime, etc?).
Pixie Late:I think cartoons, movies, some video games…I don’t actually follow a lot of anime!
SMC: Any favorite TV shows, movies or cartoons?
Pixie Late: My childhood is all about Disney cartoons and way to many trips to Disneyland (actually it’s never too many, I can live there!). As you can tell I love Sucker Punch…but I’m also all about X-men, Avengers, Harry Potter (yes I’m a big HP geek) among others.
SMC: What is your gaming system of choice?
Pixie Late:I don’t have a console, I play on my laptop or my 3DS XL 😀
